CSW66 Parallel Event: Feminist alternatives for a transformative Covid-19 economic recovery
March 2022
CSW66 NGO Forum Parallel Event
The devastating impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic were met with varying types of government interventions - many of which failed to adequately respond to women’s realities and, in many instances, threatened to further exacerbate long-standing economic and gender inequalities. Research conducted by some of the event’s co-sponsoring organisations in India, Uganda, Argentina and the Philippines examined some of these policy responses and their impacts on women’s rights and gender equality in their national contexts. What has emerged are many shared experiences, as well as important lessons for potentially transformative future proposals that the event explored.
